Something Brisbane This Way Comes

I’ve heard Brisbane band DZ get some serious hype lately. They’re currently a featured artist on Triple J Unearthed, and for good reason.
The sound is dark and dirty, reminiscent of Death From Above 1979 or early (good) The Rapture sans the cowbell. With a great beat and simplistic (but memorable) phrasings, I think we should see some local remix artists get stuck in fairly soon.
I highly recommend that you go catch them at the Essential Festival, along with a BUNCH of other great bands, this month on the 25th.

So I haven’t DJed or played music in any form whatsoever in a fucking age, and it’s shitting me.
There are plenty of opportunities out there that would take me five seconds to line up, but for an unemployed person I always seem to be so god damn busy.

I’ve been at Boundary Sounds for a couple of days this week, helping out, and will be back there for a couple of weeks to come, so expect to hear out of me plenty of exciting news and commentary on such subjects as Philadelphia Grand Jury and Purple Sneakers’ Canberra invasion, amongst other things.
